40 Scripture Meditations for Exam Seasons

God asked me to do this. I’m always very careful about saying things like that but for this I am sure that he asked me to do it, cause He said it many times to me and they were emphasis on the exact number. When I first heard 40 I thought it was too much but my Spirit did not allow me to reduce it. For me, this year is a year of exams. I have two major professional exams and I know that God wants me to do this for my success and peace of mind but I also know that this is not only for me. God cares about you and your success in exams too. That’s why he persuaded me to put this list together. Note that these verses are not just a read and go list, they are for meditation and meditation is an active process.

meditate
/ˈmɛdɪteɪt/ verb

To focus one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation.

It is a spiritual exercise, so your mind must be there. Chew the word. And say it out loud. You don’t have to impress anybody, you can mutter it to yourself. As long as you are building up your spirit this way I’m sure a miracle is inevitable. If you want, you can make it a 40 day journey of meditation and when it’s over you begin again till you’re done with your exams. That’s probably what I will do. It is my prayer that by meditating on God’s word and his intention for us, we will come back with testimonies of outstanding success in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you!

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 18

Lesson #1: All things are possible with God!

Jesus responded, “What appears humanly impossible is more than possible with God. For God can do what man cannot.”

Luke 18:27 TPT

Hallelujah! Wow. This is one of my favourite parts of scripture. God is able to do the impossible so let’s ask him for it. Let’s pray bold prayers. Come on! Stretch your faith. This is a blank cheque, why won’t you fill it and fill it well. Thank God we are moving to a new year and a whole new decade as well, now is the time to give God your impossible list and watch God tick all the boxes for you because, listen, God is just that good.

Till tomorrow, God bless you.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 17

Lesson #1: Forgiveness matters

No matter how many times in one day your brother sins against you and says, ‘I’m sorry; I am changing; forgive me,’ you need to forgive him each and every time.”

Luke 17:4 TPT

Forgiveness shouldn’t be tough for us because we have been forgiven more than we can even account for. We should be open and swift to forgive others when they wrong us, especially when they apologize and ask for forgiveness but even if they don’t, forgiveness should flow freely because it is a sign that we have truly recieved all the forgiveness of sins that Christ offers us. Learn to be quick to forgive.

Till tomorrow, stay blessed.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 16

Lesson #1: The true use of money and wealth.

It is important that you use the wealth of this world to demonstrate your friendship with God by winning friends and blessing others. Then, when this world fails and falls apart, your generosity will provide you with an eternal reward.

Luke 16:9 TPT

Have you ever wondered what the point is in making money, if we’re all going to die and leave our riches behind anyway? Well, the scriptures have given us an answer. Use your money to invest in people and the work of God so that by so doing you will be buying yourself an eternal reward. Even though money and material things are vanity at the end of the day, in the meantime you can use and steward the cash to making impact.

Till tomorrow, stay blessed.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 15

Lesson #1: God always gives us more than we deserve

“Then the son said, ‘Father, I was wrong. I have sinned against you. I could never deserve to be called your son. Just let me be—’ “The father interrupted and said, ‘Son, you’re home now!’

Luke 15:21 TPT

This hits very close to home for me because you know, sometimes you just don’t think you deserve somethings but thankfully God does not think the way we do. Indeed his thoughts are higher and better. The prodigal son thought he just deserved to be a slave and he probably did but God thought he was worthy to be a son again. That’s our God, rich in mercy, abundant in love. I daresay He loves you more than you love yourself, regardless of what you think you deserve. What a soothing thought. Even when you think the worst of you God thinks the best! Good God!

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 14

Happy Sunday fam!

Lesson #1: Stay humble… always!

“Remember this: everyone with a lofty opinion of who he is and who seeks to raise himself up will be humbled before all. And everyone with a modest opinion of who he is and chooses to humble himself will be raised up before all.”

Luke 14:11 TPT

Humility will get you places you never thought possible. Humility will help you say grounded. And what’s more? Humility will eventually raise you up. God is always on the side of the humble because think about it… what’s there to be proud about? What do you have that God has not given you? And there’s so much more he has to give. The thing is though, like it says in Hebrews, the lesser is always blessed by the greater. If you already think you’re a big shot then there’s no way God, or anyone for that matter, can help you. Make it a point to always be humble. There’s more to gain that way.

God bless you.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 13

Lesson #1: Jesus never gives up on you

Like never ever. Rather than give up he will fertilize and cultivate you. If God doesn’t give up on you then don’t give up on Him too and don’t give up on yourself. Keep pushing. Keep hoping. Keep trusting. You still have time. God is on your side.

Lesson #2: God is all about small beginnings

In the kingdom, things start small, subtly, you can barely even tell that something is happening. But no matter how insignificant, what was thought to be small will end up taking over the entire show. Your beginning may be small, but have not doubt that your ending will most definitely be grand. It’s starts small, but there’s no telling how great your ending will be. Just like the kingdom of God, we will all eventually take over! Hallelujah!

Till tomorrow, love always.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 12

Lesson #1: You matter to God… so don’t worry.

I want to encourage you, maybe even plead with you to read Luke chapter 12 if you haven’t already. You will see how much you mean to God and how deeply he cares for you. You matter to God. You have no reason to worry. I like the way the passion translation puts it. It says you should be carefree in the care of God! How absolutely awesome.

Lesson #2: Be content

Remember when we talked about guarding your heart? Well this is Jesus bringing it up again. We live in an age where it’s so easy to compare since people are always shoving what they have in our faces through social media. But Jesus tells us to be content because at the end of the day, our lives aren’t measured by how much we have acquired or accumulated. No amount of money can save our lives or earn us a place in heaven. Material blessings are good but always remember that your life is worth so much more.

Have a wonderful weekend. God bless you.

Till tomorrow.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 11

Lesson #1: Open your Heart

Many times we come to God with our minds already made up and our plans already set in stone, but this is Jesus encouraging us to open our heart to hear him, to learn, to be enlightened so we can live well. As you read your bible, have an open heart. As you attend church, have an open heart. As you spend time with God, have an open heart. Let him light you up.

Till tomorrow, grace & peace.

Lessons from Luke: Chapter 10

Lesson #1: One thing is most important

Life can be overwhelming. Activities here and there but Jesus has already shown us the most important thing to do and that is to spend time with him, at his feet, learning just like Mary. Many things will fight for your attention but don’t be distracted, maintain your focus on Jesus. That’s what matters the most. It seems fitting that this is the only lesson for today, since it is of utmost importance.

Till tomorrow, remember to keep your eyes on Jesus.
