Church Notes #2: Grace for Peace

Disclaimer: These are excerpts from my sermon notes, they are not all the exact words of the preacher, they are written as understood by me.

Preached on 23rd June 2019 at Abundant Grace Church, Osogbo by Pastor Amos Adetunji.

The theme for the month of June is Peace.

GRACE FOR PEACE

Two things.

Divine forgiveness.

You were at one time spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were Gentiles without the Law. But God has now brought you to life with Christ. God forgave us all our sins;
Colossians 2:13 GNT

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 8:12 KJV

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 10:17 KJV

Human beings can have a hard time forgiving and forgetting but God is not like that at all. When he forgives he forgives completely and forgets too. With God you have no past, you’ve done no wrong. The sacrifice of Jesus is enough for the atonement of our sins and because of this we have peace. We walk around like we own the place, because we are free from the burden of guilt and sin. We are forgiven! Hallelujah! You have to receive this forgiveness though, to enjoy the peace that comes as a result. Leave your sins alone, Jesus has washed them clean and God does not even remember. Don’t rob yourself of the peace of mind that Christ has bought for you with sin consciousness.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 KJV

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

The forgiveness of God is priceless. It is not trivial and should be held in high esteem as well as bringing us utmost joy because God did for us what not man can do for himself. He lifted the shackles of a guilty conscience. Now we have peace, we are lighthearted. All is well on the inside and so we exude that outside.

No other religion in the world can boast of total forgiveness of men without having to do anything but believe because they don’t have Jesus. Jesus is the link. Jesus makes the difference. it would be sad if you’re a Christian and you continue to live in fear and guilt. Accept the forgiveness of the father today and live peacefully.

Forgiveness, peace and healing go hand in hand so if you are believing God for healing, start in the place of really understanding what Christ has done for you.

Permanent Blessing

The blessing of the Lord , it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22 KJV

There’s no downside to God’s blessing. God desires to make your blessing permanent so that you will be peaceful. God doesn’t want you to live in fear that maybe one day you’ll lose your job and the money will stop or one day your wealth will depreciate and you will end up using all you wealth to keep yourself alive. God wants you to have the kind of blessing that does not go down till the day you die (and that is a long time from now). A permanent blessing.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord , and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7‭-‬8 KJV

For thou, Lord , wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalms 5:12 KJV

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Proverbs 15:6 KJV

So how to we get this permanent blessing?

The sequence is this;
Promise > Vision > Asset > Big Assets > Bigger Assets and on and on.

Let me break it down.

Promise;
The blessing of God in the new testament comes by promise. And promise is the word of God. Look at it like this, God’s word is the cheque of everything he has for us. It is our proof of ownership. This is why we take God’s word seriously and this is why we come to church to hear the word, so that we will receive a promise. A cheque. The word of God is full of promises. So you must take it personally and accept it as a promise of God to you that must come to pass in the physical realm. Take for instance, the bible says everything I lay my hands upon shall prosper. I can take this word as a promise concerning my business and believe it wholeheartedly to be true, that takes me to the next point.

Vision;
Because I have a promise I now have a vision. Maybe my business doesn’t have an office building yet but because I believe that promise of God, I can see clearly myself in my own office in my own building. I can see myself commissioning branches all over the country. I can see myself receiving awards. I can see myself sitting on important boards. I can see myself giving talks on how to make millions in business because I am now a multimillionaire in business myself. The vision is so clear to me because of the promise. This can apply to any area of life; marriage, academics, health etc. Everything. Once you can catch a promise, your vision is made clear and once that happens you’re on you way to getting your assets or provision.

Assets/Provision;
Now that your vision is clear, you know who you are and where you are going then you will carry yourself in such manner. You will do your work well because you already know that the work of your hands are blessed by God. You can not sit at home and expect that blessings will come running after you. There must be something you have that the Lord can multiply and the best part is that God has given all of us something! We must not be sting and lazy. That’s not the way to permanent blessing. As you grow the assets that God brings your way, more will come your way until you reach a point where you can be sustained for life, where your blessing is permanent.

In the parable of the talents, you remember that the master took from the person with the least who did nothing with it and gave to the person that had the most, and he concluded by saying that to those that have, more will be given to them. Please my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, use what the father has given you, much blessing awaits you. Don’t play the victim and say nobody is helping you and this country is bad. No, no, no. Your success is not dependent on anyone or the state of the country, it’s dependent on God Almighty and he is itching to blessing you. Just do something. Do something small, and you get a small push from God, but go big and God will go big with you. He will orchestrate things to favour you.

You see, God will never let his word God unfulfilled. If he said it and you believe it in your heart and you’re working with that word with your vision in mind, it is only a matter of time, your greatness is sure!

Remember the sequence;
Promise > Vision > Asset > Big Assets > Bigger Assets and on and on.

So endeavor to fill yourself with the promises of God because that is the starting point and if you don’t start, how can you finish? Things happen in the inside first become they are open for everyone to see, so take your time to get the promise and see the vision. God will settle the rest!

I pray the Holy Spirit expands these words in your mind and gives you understanding in all things. This words will work miracles in your life in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you.
I feel so much love in my heart for you!
Have a blessed week ahead God’s people!

Church Notes #1: Continuous Promotion

Disclaimer: These are excerpts from my sermon notes, they are not all the exact words of the preacher, they are written as understood by me.

Preached on 3rd March 2019 at Abundant Grace Church, Osogbo by Pastor Amos Adetunji.

March as been declared as our month of Unusual Promotion.

An uncommon promotion is a continuous one. Most people get successful and more successful until they reach a peak then they stop, but it is quite spectacular to have someone who never stops succeeding or prospering. It’s unique. Only God blesses that way.

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Proverbs 4:18 KJV

https://bible.com/bible/1/pro.4.18.KJV

How do we enjoy continuous promotion?

Set Godly Priorities.

You have to make up your mind on certain things. Pastors gave us six things to prioritize this month to enjoy continuous promotion.

Praise.

Instead of complaining this month, and all the time really, why don’t you praise the Lord? Why don’t you just burst into singing? This really resonated with me because usually school gets me complaining a lot but I’ve made a pact with myself that anytime I feel like complaining I will shout hallelujah instead and find a reason to thank my good good God. Wanna join me?

The Word.

We should not be tossed to and fro concerning the things of God. The words has all the answers to all our questions. The words contains all we need to succeed at everything. Let the word of God be number one in your life. Put everything else in the back sit. If anything is contrary to God’s word, please don’t think twice about it, just let it go.

Wisdom.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

Proverbs 4:7‭-‬8 KJV

https://bible.com/bible/1/pro.4.7-8.KJV

Open your mind to learn. Gather information. Seek to know. Seek to know God for your own self.

The seeming foolishness of God is way better than the wisdom of mere men. It pays to follow the wisdom of God. Those that follow God reap the benefits, there is no doubt about that.

Revelation of God’s word.

Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, you have been searching for Me, not because you saw the signs (attesting miracles), but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures [and leads] to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for God the Father has authorized Him and put His seal on Him.”

JOHN 6:26‭-‬27 AMP

https://bible.com/bible/1588/jhn.6.26-27.AMP

Follow the revelation of the spirit. Revelation will eventually give birth to everything that you want. If you chase after the natural, you will lose sight of the supernatural which brings about the natural blessing. Every blessing and promotion starts in the mind so seek to have your mind illuminated by the revelation of God’s word.

Faithfulness.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:10‭-‬13 KJV

https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.16.10-13.KJV

You have to choose who you are going to be faithful to, who you can going to serve.

A faithful (right-minded) man will abound with blessings, But he who hurries to be rich will not go unpunished.

PROVERBS 28:20 AMP

https://bible.com/bible/1588/pro.28.20.AMP

Be faithful. Be committed. Be consistent. Don’t be neither here nor there. Be determined to be a good steward of whatever you’ve been blessed with, while being ultimately accountable to God.

Savings.

The way of the rich is to save. Don’t say you make too little to put some away, it’s not true. Cut some expenses and make room for gathering. There are 3 principles you should imbibe in your money matters;

Decide to give to God, tithe.

Decide to give to your parents, whether or not they were good parents. Just do it.

Decide to give to your future, save.

With time, you will reap a harvest of doing these things consistently.

Set priority on your savings this year.

Dedication

Be dedicated to the cause of Christ and whatever you do.

1 Samuel 16:10-30 tells the story of when Samuel wanted to anoint a new king and God kept saying no to the seemingly good men,until it got to the turn of David. Funny enough when they asked of him, he was said to be on his father’s field. Pastor asks, why should the brothers leave the last born in the field to tend the flock alone?

The Lord only promotes dedicated people. The Lord looks at the heart.

John 4:4-32 tells the tell of Jesus and the woman by the well, you should actually open your Bible and read it.

In verse 4, the holy spirit was directing Jesus to take a longer route to Galilee. A more difficult route. And even though he was hungry He still had the time/energy/passion to preach to the woman by the well, more so by the time the disciples came back, He said He was already full because His food was to do his work! How deep is that? How many of us can say our food is our work?

If Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords was dedicated to his mission and purpose then who are we to be lazy? We have no excuse.

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John 4:34 KJV

https://bible.com/bible/1/jhn.4.34.KJVLuke 15:38.

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Luke 18:22 KJV

https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.18.22.KJV

Have a blessed week ahead fam.
