#3 Meditations on God’s love: This Love is not What You Think

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT

God’s love is not human love. I remember telling someone sometime ago that if we truly understood what God’s love truly is we wouldn’t call it love at all. We would find a brand new word entirely. It pales so much in comparison to the love that we give and receive from fellow humans. His ways are indeed high. And to call his everlasting affection for us love seems to me like an understatement. God does not leave us, never. He stays put, no matter what. It really takes the Holy Spirt to understand this and let it sink into your soul. God is not moved by your insecurities. He isn’t scared about your problems. You can’t chase him away. His love for you is without condition and seasons. He is here for you, period and he is reliable. You can trust him.

You would think that love like this comes at a price, and it does, but that price has already being paid in full by Jesus. The father delights in you. You have captured his heart and there is nothing you can do about it. The bible say we should come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy in time of need. God’s is not a place we shudder away from when we’ve go astray, it a place we run too and we egarly embrace because we know he is our safe refugee. God’s love is a love that covers a multitude of sins but also does not rejoice in evil and so he helps you to get better. And at times when getting better is hard, we should be reminded that it is only temporary and the joy that is coming is far greater that any difficulty you have to endure in the main time (Romans 8:18).

If you are going through a rough patch please don’t run away from God and think oh, this is probably too hard for him or even worse, he caused it. For a fact, let me be the one to tell you he did not cause it. Somebody that died for you fa. Lol. What did he na die for, if all he wants to do is bring you bad fortune. And listen if you feel that you are suffering as a result of your own bad decisions and so you don’t deserve God’s love or his help. I’m here to tell you, it does not work that way. God is way kinder than you think o. Can we ever work enough or be good enough for God’s love or his help? If he decided to not love us or help us, wouldn’t He still be God? He has absolutely nothing to lose, yet He is very intentional about us. God is intentional about you. He will still come and get you out of a mess even if it was your own doing. Please, please, please see God as he truly is, on your side always! Always! To a fault!

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalms 46:1 NLT

He is for you. May you always be reminded.
